The Mining Institute for Project design, Consultancy and Research Banja Luka was established in 2003 with two main goals. The first is to organize local mining experts with the knowledge and potential to actively participate in the realization of new mining projects. Second goal is to meet the needs for the institution of this kind that have appeared in the mining sector of Republika Srpska.
The Mining Institute Banja Luka operates through three departments, Department of mining, Department of geology and geodesy and the Department of recultivation and environment protection. The main activities of the Mining Institute Banja Luka are the designs of mining projects, studies and other technical documentation for the companies engaged in the exploitation of mineral resources.
Among other things, employees of the Mining Institute Banja Luka are particularly proud of the production of more than 40 feasibility studies for the approval of concessions for the exploitation of various types of mineral raw materials, as well as the complete engineering (greenfield) of the projects 'Luke', 'Rudine' and 'Lješljani' as well as many others
